Images of ourselves

So Saturday it was raining ALL day. In fact, it had been raining for almost two weeks (no sun!) Sarah and I went to Big Lots (yeah, one of our favorite stores) and before that had ordered for pick up Pizza to take home. After our fun shopping at Big Lots we strolled down the way to get our Pizza. Three young men were walking towards us and one (though male) was just like me.

How strange -- I never get to see a mirror image of myself -- So, when I do it is like WOW! So, being that outgoing person that I am who just about talks to everyone I said - oh yes, can we chat? So, life history - tons of questions and his experience was identical mine - what are the odds. He is 18 - I am 50.

We walked (well - walking for us) into the Pizza Joint and Sarah and I got our Pizza and I gave him my contact information and said let me know if I can ever do anything. As he went away I glanced up to watch him and he glanced back.

The whole thing was so serene.

As he went away - I thought there goes "my past." (I have made it, look where I started)
and as he turned and we caught eyes - I was thinking that his thought was probaly
there is "my future" - hope for what is yet to come

Unexpected Events that change our lives

Last Saturday was the Relief Society general broadcast. I selected to stay home in my comfy house and watch the broadcast instead of going to Church to watch it. David had been organizing the garage (smile) all day and I had several boxes to go through. He found boxes with all sorts of treasures such as stuffed animals from the kids and all my High School Yearbooks and Journals (which I thought were lost). Anyway, while going through all of this I was listening to the broadcast. This one sister was speaking (and she has never been my favorite to listen to) and for some reason I just zoned in on her. She started talking about how her life did not turn out the way she had thought. She told a short story of how she went to a chinese restaurant one day and opened her fortune cookie and it read something like "happiness will soon come your way."

Well, every other fortune cookie has this. But for her she thought that meant meeting the man of her dreams was around the corner. Alas, she is still not married. During her talk I felt this immense overwhelming love for her and admiration. It was so strange. I shared this with three friends the next day and they had the same experience.

Through the still small voice he touches our hearts and slowly our lives change.

All is well

It is labor day weekend and Sarah and I have spent almost the entire weekend doing Mommy/Daughter activities. Saturday Sarah received her first pedicure (well she got her toe nails painted). She told me "I told you I wanted the water" I said, "next time" Anyway, she picked out purpel and got little white flowers on her big toes and then while I was trying to scoot her up the the foot air dryer she bumped her big toe into the machine and it was no longer a pretty white flower --- it kinda looked dead. Oh well, she did not seem to mind and went on her merry way and thinks she is all pretty now.

Right now she and her daddy are sitting on the couch - David is asleep holding her - it is pretty cute.

So, I really have no idea what I am doing but after reading the blog from Courtney and David - thought this would be a good way to keep in touch. However, I need to add pictures. I have been taking some to add. So, soon there will be more "stuff." It is hot enough here to fry an egg on the sidewalk. All my pretty flowers are not going to make it with the extreme heat.
